The LCRI lowers the lead action level, improves tap sampling, and ensures residents have better access to immediate filtration solutions as lead pipe identification and removal activities proceed. The rule would require all lead pipes to be replaced within a decade after the compliance date, the first-ever federal regulation to do so.
